The most popular posts wind up getting discussed in EA Facebook groups instead of on the blog itself.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08064363064872625529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6590358285673767171.post-65442815326719397472014-05-02T00:56:36.901-07:002014-05-02T00:56:36.901-07:00Do you feel that I'm too argumentative? An analagous situation might be a pregnant woman who drinks just for fun, knowing that she's harming her future child, who ends up having a life that's worth living but worse than it would've been had she not drunk. It's good that she had the child, but bad that she drank.

And how important was it that the mice be gray rather than white? Not too important, if the surviving mice just licked the dye off and the film was still good.

Also, there are other films that people could have watched, as well as other recreational activities they could have engaged in. So we should count only how much better the film was than alternative activities.

And there's something to be said for developing taboos against violent activities, even if these activities produce more happiness than suffering. People will come up with other things to do. For example, we watch football instead of gladiators, and that's probably a good thing.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14368549042223591172noreply@blogger.com
